This patent describes an apparatus for monitoring and displaying energy consumption. The apparatus consists of: 1.) at least one communications channel; 2.) at least one group of remote stations connected to a communications channel; 3.) at least one energy consumption sensor connected to an information channel of a remote station; 4.) at least one display device connected to a information channel of a remote station; and 5.) a central station connected to each communications channel. The station has means for selectively addressing the information channels at the remote stations, means for receiving the output of the sensor during the period the information channel connected thereto is addressed and connected to a respective communications channel, and means responsive to the output of the sensor for computing energy consumption data, and means for sending a signal representative of the energy consumption data to the display device.
