Transition rates, oscillator strengths, and collision strengths between the fine-structure levels of O III, obtained from a model which includes the configurations 2s[sup 2]2p[sup 2], 2s2p[sup 3], 2p[sup 4], 2s[sup 2]2p3s, 2s[sup 2]2p3p, and 2s[sup 2]2p3d are tabulated. The calculations were carried out using the Superstructure and distorted-wave computer programs developed at University College, London. Such data are needed for investigations of the O III level populations and line intensities at higher densities and temperatures and in the presence of photoexcitation processes which populate higher levels. 19 refs., 3 figs., 3 tabs.
