This article describes solar absorption installations for cooling with air desorption. The proposed solar cooling systems are based on the regeneration of the absorbent by evaporating moisture from it into the environment. The heated solution is brought into contact with atmospheric air in a special mass-transfer apparatus in which the evaporation of water takes place due to the heat accumulated by the solution. This regeneration method makes it possible to reduce the heating temperature of the solution by 12-14/sup 0/, which corresponds to a 30% increase of the efficiency of the solar heater (a solar collector with glazing and a neutral absorber). It is recommended that lithium chloride be used as the absorbent because lithium bromide solution loses its initial properties upon prolonged contact with air.
