Hydrodenitrogenation studies of condensed carbocyclic-N-heterocyclic compounds and of an SRC-II distillate

This thesis was concerned with a systematic study of the kinetics of hydrogenation-hydrodenitrogenation (HDN) reactions of condensed carbocyclic-N-heterocyclic model compounds, and of a representative coal liquid. The feeds investigated included 5,6-benzoquinoline; 7,8-benzoquinoline; phenanthridine (3,4-benzoquinoline); N-ethylcarbazole; carbazole; 1,10-phenanthroline; and a SRC-II middle-heavy distillate (b.p. 230-430C).
