Analysis of mechanical degradation data on partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide solutions

This work describes an experimental study of mechanical degradation of partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide solutions. The screen factor data on the sheared solutions were correlated using 2 variables: energy input and energy intensity. These correlations are used to determine which of the well-bore treatments will minimize the mechanical degradation in the rock adjacent to the well bore. The application of the correlations to the design of a field polymer injectivity testing program is described.
