Simplification of the lumen input method for predicting daylight in buildings
Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:6067148
Achieving accurate results when calculating the quantity of daylight in buildings depends on the use of accurate daylight availability data and calculation procedures. The Illuminating/Engineering Society recommends the Lumen Method for use in the United States. This report simplifies the Lumen Method by reducing the number of coefficients of utilization required for calculation from four to two. In addition, the use of locale specific luminance data generated at SERI is described.
