Hydrocarbyl-substituted carboxylic acylating agent derivative containing combinations, and fuels containing same

This patent describes a mixture consisting of two individual components. The first component is a pour point depressant selected from the group of either an oil-soluble ethylene backbone polymer (Av. Mol. Wt. 500-50000) or a hydrocarbyl-substituted phenol of the formula (R/sup Vertical Bar) /sub A-Ar-(OH)B/ where R is a hydrocarbyl group of from 8-30 carbon atoms and polymers of at least 30 carbon atoms, Ar is an aromatic moiety having 0-4 optional substitutents from groups of lower alkyl, lower alkoxyl, nitro, halo or combinations, a and b are intergers of 1-5 times the number of aromatic nuclei in Ar as well as mixtures of these. The second component, an agent for dispersing and/or suspending wax crystals, being the reaction product of (B)(I) a hydrocarbyl-substituted carboxylic acylating agent with (B)(II) one or more amines, or alcohols, or a mixture of alcohols and amines. The hydrocarbyl substitutent of (B)(I) is selected from the following group: one or more mono-olefins (8-30 carbon atoms), mixtures of above mono-olefins with olefin polymers of at least 30 carbon atoms or one or more olefin polymers of at least 30 carbons chosen from selected groups.
