Current data on production, consumption, stocks, imports, exports and prices of the principal energy commodities in the United States are presented. Also included are data on international production of crude oil, consumption of petroleum products, petroleum stocks and production of electricity from nuclear-powered facilities. Energy production in the United States during November 1984 totaled 5.2 quadrillion Btu, a 0.9% decrease compared to the level of production during November 1983. Coal production decreased 4.4%. Natural gas production was up 1.9%, and petroleum production increased 1.0%. Production of all other forms of energy combined decreased 4.9% compared to production 1 year earlier. Energy consumption during November 1984 totaled 6.1 quadrillion Btu, 2.9% above the level of consumption during November 1983. Natural gas consumption increased 7.0%, coal consumption was up 5.7%, and petroleum consumption increased 0.7%. Consumption of all other forms of energy combined decreased 4.6% compared to consumption during November 1983. Net imports of energy during November 1984 totaled 0.8 quadrillion Btu, 10.1% above the level of net imports during November 1983. Net imports of natural gas increased 5.3% and net imports of petroleum increased 3.3%. Net exports of coal were down 29.0% compared to the level in November 1983.
