The issues involved in prorationing oil and gas in Kansas are reviewed. The prorationing of oil and gas fields in Kansas is not now. The Kansas Corporation Commission has been an active participant in this arena for well over 50 years. The commission has a high visibility because of the fortunate geographic position of the Hugoton field. This field has the largest gas accumulation in the lower 48 states. The on-going projects of the commission which influences the development and production of the Hugoton field are described.
