A book resulting from a series of workshops held at the seminar on the economics of renewable natural resources sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fundacion Chile, in Santiago, Chile in Dec 1980 is reviewed. There are 6 chapters, discussing the economics of fisheries management, forest and agricultural research policies, and water resources. The chapter on forest policy (pp. 33-63) by Clawson, M. and Sedjo, R.A. covers topics such as forest ownership in relation to wood processing facilities, economic analysis, production and international trade, the trend towards plantation forestry and its effects, multiple use forestry and national forest policy. An index is included.
