The framework of this presentation of solutions of the many-body problem by means of Feynman diagrams is given by a view of a many-body system as a set of elementary excitations above a ground state. It is shown how the energy of the excitations and of the ground state may be obtained from the propagators for the system, and how to calculate these propagators by means of diagrams. 120 references.
