Partial wave decomposition of the Glauber amplitude for the elastic scattering of structureless charged particles by atomic hydrogen

The partial wave amplitudes for the conventional Glauber approximation to the elastic scattering of structureless charged particles by hydrogen atoms are evaluated in closed form. The asymptotic behavior of these amplitudes in various limits is described. The large-r asymptotic behavior of the Glauber effective interaction and the logarithmic divergence of the elastic Glauber amplitude as theta ..-->.. 0 are discussed. Some numerical results for these partial amplitudes are presented.
