Scales of deconfinement

We investigate the possibility of scales of deconfinement in SU(N) lattice gauge theories with infinitely heavy sources in different representations. We employ Monte Carlo methods for N = 4, factorization for N = infinity, and strong-coupling mean-field techniques for even N< or =16. No scales of deconfinement are found.
