Solar thermal technology: Annual report, Fiscal Year 1986

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6051722
The research and development (R and D) described in this document was conducted within the US Department of Energy's (DOE) Solar Thermal Technology (STT) Program. This annual report is divided into two parts. Part I describes the accomplishments and progress of government-funded activities initiated, renewed, or completed during Fiscal Year (FY) 1986 (October 1, 1985, through September 30, 1986). It highlights the program tasks conducted by participating national laboratories and by contracting industrial, academic, or other research institutions. The focus of the STT Program during the year was research and development leading to the economic viability of two primary solar thermal concepts, central receiver and parabolic dish. Part II details the FY 1986 contract descriptions. These are followed by three appendices covering contacts, acronyms and abbreviations, a glossary, and a contractor index. A comprehensive bibliography of solar thermal technology publications is located after the appendices.
