The surface and ground water quality in Iowa is identified for 1981-1983. The discussion of surface water includes information about surface water resources and water quality conditions, as affected by point and nonpoint sources, conventional and toxic pollutants. The discussion of ground water includes geologic features, the Iowa ground water system and water quality. The sources of pollutants affecting our waters and the activities to control these sources are identified. Data acquisition programs in Iowa conducted by state and federal agencies are reviewed.
