Properties of the angular distributions of the decay products in pair production of heavy particles in e/sup +/e/sup -/ annihilation

Heavy-particle pair production in e/sup +/e/sup -/ annihilation is studied taking into account both photon and Z/sup 0/ exchanges. Universal formulas (neglecting the vector constant of the weak neutral leptonic current) are obtained for the angular distributions of secondary particles created in the decay of one of the heavy particles; these formulas are independent of the features of the decay. Specific decays of a heavy lepton of a standard type L/sup -/..--> pi../sup -/..nu../sub L/, rho/sup -/..nu../sub L/, e/sup -/nu-bar/sub e/..nu../sub L/ are studied. It is shown that the analysis of the angular distributions of the light products of heavy-particle decays gives important information on the mechanisms producing new particles in e/sup +/e/sup -/ annihilation.
