Covariant Yang-Mills theory without Faddeev-Popov ghosts: How to restore a Lagrangian with the help of parastatistics

We show how a Faddeev-Popov ghost-free approach to manifestly covariant Yang-Mills theory can be deduced from a Lagrangian although the field equations are a priori nonderivable from a Lagrangian. The price to pay is the use of parastatistics and the introduction of additional fields. These new unphysical fields do not affect the Yang-Mills sector at the level of field equations.
