Superconducting magnet system

The superconducting magnet system for the superconducting super collider is described. A design scheme considering magnet load line, central field and saturation, multipoles, inductance, stored energy and leakage field, and superconductor magnetization is presented. The niobium titanium superconductor is described coils, iron yoke and helium containment, beam tube assembly, quench protection features, the cyrostat, magnet testing, the quadrapoles, and other magnets are described.
