Solid waste disposal and reuse in the United States. Volume 1: Overview

This volume presents information describing the sources, amounts, and composition of various solid wastes in United States. Trends in the production and reuse of solid wastes are also discussed. For large volume nonnuclear solid wastes, (e.g. electrical utilities, chemical industry, mining industry, and municipal refuse), details are presented on the quantities; how they are produced, reused and disposed; their physical-chemical composition, and the mobilization, transport and environmental fate of the released constituents from disposal practices.
