High strength powder metallurgy aluminum alloys II; Proceedings of the Symposium on Aluminum Powder Metallurgy, Toronto, Canada, Oct. 13-17, 1985
Papers are presented on the strengthening mechanism and fatigue crack growth behavior of Al powder alloys; the thermomechanical processing and superplastic evaluation of P/M Al alloys; the effect of thermal treatment on the properties of rapidly solidified alloys; the design and development of high modulus Al-Zn-Mg-X P/M Al alloys; high strength weldable Al alloys made from rapidly solidified powder; and the superplastic forming of a high strength powder Al alloy with and without SiC reinforcement. Consideration is given to the tensile behavior of SiC reinforced Al composites; water desorption during degassing of Al powders; the effects of metallurgical and process variables on Al powder consolidation; the influence of cooling rate on the microstructure and mechanical properties of rapidly solidified Al-Fe-Z alloys; and the microstructure of melt-spun Al-Fe and Al-Fe-Ce alloys. Topics discussed include internal friction damping in a rapidly solidified Al-Fe-Ce alloy; the elevated temperature mechanical behavior of P/M dispersion strengthened Al-Fe-Ni alloys; the production and properties of rapidly solidified Al-Cr-Zr alloys; the coarsening behavior of rapidly solidified Al-Ti alloys; and the elastic modulus of rapildy solidified Al-Mn and Al-Be alloys.
