Can Bose condensation of alpha particles be observed in heavy ion collisions

Using a fully self-consistent quantum statistical model, the authors demonstrate the possibility of Bose condensation of alpha particles with a concomitant phase transition in heavy ion collisions. Suggestions for the experimental observation of the signature of the onset of this phenomenon are made.
