Some aspects of fluidized bed coal combustion and their effect on FBC modeling

An overall fluidized bed combustion model is developed, taking into account devolatilization and combustion of coal, sulfur dioxide removed by limestone, elutriation of char and limestone, hydrodynamics. The model is able to simulate most of the important performance characteristics. Model predictions are compared with experimental data of Babcock and Wilson 6' x 6' fluidized bed combustor. Agreement is good.
