The generic definition of ES and H Assurance Programs is given in a companion document entitled An Environmental, Safety and Health Assurance Program Standard. The Standard specifies that the operational level of an institution must have internal control and assurance functions, and this document provides guidance for the inspection and monitoring activities which are a very basic part of such functions.
