Measurement of the total cross section of charged current neutrino interactions

The author performed a flux-normalized measurement of the ratio for neutrinos interacting with nucleons via the charged-current channel, using a narrow-band neutrino beam and the FNAL 15' Bubble Chamber filled with a heavy Neon mixture. The result from 844 nu/sub / events in the energy range 10-240 GeV is sigma/sub tot//E/sub nu/ = (0.62 +/- 0.02 +/- 0.04) x 10 TYcmS/GeV. No evidence is seen for any departure from linear increase of sigma/sub tot/ with E/sub nu/.
