NRC Authorization for Fiscal Year 1990. Hearing before the Subcommittee on Energy and Power of the Committee on Energy and Commerce, US House of Representatives, One Hundred First Congress, First Session, February 28, 1989
These hearings before the Subcommittee on Energy and Power examine the administration's proposal for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) funding authorization for fiscal year 1990. The funding proposal makes the commission self-sufficient in terms of funding by raising the users fee to 100%. The status of the Office of Investigation within the NRC and questions surrounding some of the office's personnel are looked at in this hearing. Proposed rule of the NRC on standardization and licensing reform and the NRC's interaction with the Department of Energy in preparation for the high-level waste repository are discussed. Testimony from five members of the NRC and two representatives to congress is recorded. Some additional materials are submitted to the record by the NRC.
