Control of catalytic hydrotreating selectivity with ammonia

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6022891
Research continues on catalytic hydrotreating control with ammonia. This quarter a detailed study of quinoline and naphthalene was completed. A mixture of quinoline and naphthalene was hydrotreated. The catalyst was a commercial NiMo/Al{sub 2}O{sub 3}. Results showed the hydrodenitrogenation of quinoline is moderately inhibited by ammonia. Ammonia has little effect on hydrogen consumption during the hydrogenation of naphthalene. Ammonia also improved selectivity to tetralin. 3 figs., 1 tab. (SM)
