The objective of this project was to assemble and operate a Geopressured Aquifer Simulator (GAS) that can flow single-phase or two-phase fluids (gas and brine) through porous reservoir rock samples at simulated reservoir temperature, pressure, and fluid saturation. The system is instrumented and controlled to make permeability or relative permeability measurements and to study the behavior of gas evolution from brine at simulated reservoir conditions.
