Inclusive (. pi. /sup +/,/ital p/) and (. pi. /sup +/,/ital pp/) cross sections for light nuclei in the resonance energy region

The angular distributions of the inclusive (..pi../sup +/,/ital p/)and (..pi../sup +/,/ital pp/) cross sections have been measured for/sup 6/Li, /sup 7/Li, and C at /ital T//sub ..pi../=70, 130, and165 MeV. The results are compared with the predictions of the intranuclearcascade model in which pion absorption is involved only through the..delta../ital N/-/ital NN/ dynamics. Discrepancy between the intranuclear cascade andexperimental results for the (..pi../sup +/,/ital pp/) reaction islarger than that for the (..pi../sup +/,/ital p/) reaction. Effectivenumbers of quasideuteron are deduced from both single-arm and coincidence data,and compared with results of the two-nucleon photoabsorption reaction.
