Several samples of Tl-doped PbTe exhibited type II superconductivity with critical temperatures T/sub c/>1 /sup 0/K. The maximum value of T/sub c/ for these samples was 1.4 /sup 0/K. Estimates of the main parameters of the superconducting state of PbTe:Tl at T = 1 /sup 0/K gave H/sub c/1roughly-equal0.6 Oe, H/sub c/2roughly-equal2.5 kOe, and kappa-curroughly-equal80 (Ginzburg--Landau parameter). Preliminary estimates yielded H/sub c/2(0)roughly-equal5 kOe and 2..delta..(0)roughly-equal4 x 10/sup -4/ eV (BCS theory). The value of the coupling parameter N(0)V was close to 0.2 eV. The constant of the effective electron--electron interaction was found to be Vroughly-equal8 x 10/sup -23/ eV x cm/sup 3/. The probable reason for the high values of T/sub c/ of PbTe:Tl was the low conductivity (hole mobility) of this material.
