Baryon octet as SU(3)-subgroup Skyrmions

A generalization of the SU(3) Skyrme model to SU(N) is presented, which is a tool to estimate the influences of heavy quarks on static properties of the usual baryon octet. For the SU(4) case, the mass spectrum of SU(3)-subgroup Skyrmions is calculated. The Gell-Mann--Okubo relation and the Coleman-Glashow relation are modified in this approach. The influences of c flavor on mass splitting of SU(3)-octet baryons are revealed in the Skyrme model.
