Excitement is building again in the Colorado-Kansas stateline play. Pennsylvanian Morrow oil reserves are being added at the southeastern end of the productive area, in Kiowa County, Colo., and Greeley County, Kan. The latest completions are 25-30 miles southeast of Cheyenne Wells, Colo., in Jace field and three Moore-Johnson fields. All of those fields were discovered since mid-1989. Union Pacific Resources Co. plans to drill as many as 10 more Morrow wells in the Jace field area, where it recently completed three new oil wells. UPRC's proposed Jace field development program is not part of the company's Las Animas arch joint venture with Sinclair Oil Corp., Salt Lake City.
