Nucleus-nucleus optical potential derived from a complex skyrme-type interaction

We construct a complex energy functional to be used in the calculation of the nucleus-nucleus optical potential. The functional is related to a Skyrme-type nucleon-nucleon interaction derived from a finite range complex interaction previously obtained from nuclear matter calculation appropriate to heavy ion collisions. Calculations for /sup 16/O+/sup 16/O reproduce very well the results obtained from the finite range interaction.
