The authors use the first-order Lagrangian formalism of Faddeev and Jackiw to give some comments concerning chiral bosonization in the recent literature. In particular, after considering the fact that the Abelian formulation of Siegel's model reduces naturally to a gauged version of Floreanini nd Jackiw's model, they introduce a method for understanding the bosonic description of the minimal chiral Schwinger model.
