Health risk of hazardous waste incineration
Conference
·
OSTI ID:6001549
Health risk estimates are presented for incineration of the principle organic hazardous constituents of waste streams. Preliminary results indicate that both the carcinogenic and the noncarcinogenic risks to populations living near incinerators are small. Further research is needed to confirm these results and to assess the human health risks from metals in waste streams and products of combustion formed during incineration. 16 references, 10 tables.
