New J/sup. pi. / = 10/sup +/ resonance in /sup 16/O+ /sup 16/O

Small angle cross sections for /sup 16/O(/sup 16/O,..cap alpha../sub 0/) and /sup 16/O(/sup 16/O,..cap alpha../sub 1/) reactions have been measured from E/sub c.m./approx.12 to 20 MeV in 50 keV steps and angular distributions are measured at selected energies. A well-isolated resonance with J/sup ..pi../ = 10/sup +/ and GAMMAapprox. =100 keV is found at E/sub c.m./approx. =15.2 MeV. The high density of narrow structure over the entire energy range studied indicates no significant influence of dinucleus resonant states of /sup 32/S in these reactions.
