Chromium hazards to fish, wildlife, and invertebrates: a synoptic review

Ecological and toxicological aspects of chromium in the environment are reviewed, with special reference to North American natural resources. Subtopics include chemical properties and background concentrations in biological and abiotic samples, persistence, beneficial and protective properties, toxic and sublethal effects, results of field investigations, and current recommendations for the protection of sensitive species of fish and wildlife.
