The nuclear saturation properties of /sup 16/O and /sup 32/S are examined in detail to obtain the effective nucleon--nucleon forces appropriate to the present study of /sup 16/O + /sup 16/O system. By using such forces the /sup 16/O + /sup 16/O interaction is systematically investigated based on the Resonating Group Method (RGM). 1 reference.
