Interaction of relativistic helium projectile fragments in nuclear emulsions

Estimates of the mean free path of relativistic /sup 6/He in nuclear emulsion strongly suggest that it is much shorter than the /sup 3/He or /sup 4/He mean free path. A discussion is given of the important implications of this difference for the interpretation of recent data on secondary helium fragments produced in interactions of relativistic primary beams.
