Quarkonium production at pp-bar colliders

We evaluate cross sections for eta( /sup 1/S/sub 0/) and psi( /sup 3/S/sub 1/) quarkonium states of cc-bar, bb-bar, and tt-bar from lowest-order gg..-->..eta,chi/sub 0,2/( /sup 3/P/sub 0,2/ ) and gg..-->..psig subprocesses, including chi/sub J/..-->..psi..gamma.. decays. Data on pp production of psi and UPSILON are well described. High rates are predicted for eta/sub b/ and UPSILON/sub b/ production at pp-bar colliders. The much smaller eta(tt-bar) and psi(tt-bar) rates are critically dependent on the singular part of the confining potential.
