Influence of angular momentum on the mass distribution of heavy-ion-induced fission

The deformation energy surfaces of /sup 205/At are calculated at high angular momenta and temperatures using a Woods-Saxon potential and the Strutinsky prescription. By this microscopic calculation it is shown that a qualitative explanation of the increasing width of the mass distribution of heavy-ion-induced fission with angular momentum is possible.
