This book reviews the current knowledge and understanding of oceanic processes that transfer substances from a deep sea dump site to man or to his food chain. It also evaluates methods and models for calculating concentration distributions of contaminants arising from deep sea dump site releases. In addition, an assessment is made of priority research needs and areas for improvement. This book is illustrated with charts, graphs, maps and tables.
