Evaluation of a steam pipeline
This evaluation investigates the possibility of supplying steam to an industrial park from a nuclear power plant located up to 16 km away. The design steam load was estimated to be approx. 454 kg/s at a delivery pressure of 2.75 MPa. While the chief focus of this evaluation is on technical feasibility, the general methodology for calculating pressure drops and energy losses in steam pipes as well as a rough estimation of pipeline costs are included.
