Inclusion of a hard-core effect in the Thomas-Fermi method

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. C; (United States)
A Thomas-Fermi equation, which includes a hard-core effect, is obtained and solved. The hard-core effect is simulated by using an effective kinetic energy which diverges at high densities and induces an approximate saturation in the fermion assembly.
