NRC's environmental analysis of nuclear accidents: is it adequate. Final report

The report evaluates the adequacy of accident analyses in environmental impact statements for nuclear power plants. It reviews the regulations and policies governing nuclear accident analyses in EISs, surveys the accident analyses in 149 EISs in 10 years, assesses the legal and scientific foundations of NRC's accident analysis policy, discusses the legal and pragmatic reasons for fuller EIS accident analysis, and makes recommendations for improving the content of EIS accident analyses as well as for implementing them.
