Temperature dependence of the critical Josephson current in superconductor--insulator--normal-metal proximity junctions near T/sub c/

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. B: Condens. Matter; (United States)
The temperature dependence of the Josephson critical current I/sub c/(T) of a superconductor--insulator--normal-metal proximity junction near its T/sub c/ is derived from Ginzburg-Landau theory and the de Gennes boundary conditions. The theoretical result is in good agreement with experimental measurements of the proximity-induced Josephson effect obtained from Ta/Mo and Nb/Ta point-contact junctions.
