Study of the sites of nickel in decationized and dealuminized decationized mordenites by optical spectroscopy
It has been shown with the use of optical spectroscopy that the Ni/sup 2+/ ions in decationized and dealuminized decationized mordenites are stabilized in the same type of sites in the mordenite lattice, whose symmetry depends on the aluminum content. Hindrances to the diffusion of Ni/sup 2+/ ions in decationized mordenites to the sites of their final location in the zeolite lattice have been discovered. The dealuminization of mordenite opens up niches and lowers the activation energy for the diffusion of Ni/sup 2+/ ions from the larger channels to the sites of type I. It has been shown that the introduction of Ni/sup 2+/ ions into mordenite raises the activity of mordenite-containing aluminum-nickel-molybdenum catalysts in the hydrodesulfurization of petroleum.
