In this paper, the authors consider the application of moment methods (MM) to eddy-current testing problems for nondestructive evaluation (NDE). They derive a general formulation for the MM used to analyze NDE problems, and present results calculated by the MM and experimental data obtained from the eddy-current testing system for an artificially made sample. A good agreement between the calculated results and the experimental data confirms the validity of the method developed in this paper for the NDE problems. Their result shows that the MM can be used as an alternative mathematical method to the finite element method (FEM) and the boundary element method (BEM) in NDE.
