A catalyst composition is described, selected from the group consisting of: (a) a catalyst composition consisting essentially of: (1) about 0.1 to 30 wt. % of at least one oxide of iron and (2) the balance of at least one oxide of at least one Lanthanum Series metal; and (b) a catalyst composition consisting essentially of: (1) about 0.1 to 30 wt. % of at least one oxide of iron and (2) the balance of at least one oxide of niobium, the wt. % being expressed in terms of the element based on the total weight of the catalyst composition.
