We studied the hydrogen formation kinetics in the radiolysis of CH/sub 4/ and gas-phase CH/sub 4/ /plus/ H/sub 2/O mixtures in the temperature range 333-773 K under the effect of /sup 60/Co /gamma/ radiation. In the studied temperature range, an increase of the methane content led to an increase of the radiation-chemical yield of hydrogen. In all cases, in the radiolysis of CH/sub 4/ /plus/ H/sub 2/O mixtures, the values of the radiation-chemical yield of hydrogen was less than in the radiolysis of CH/sub 4/.
