Effects of processing chemistry on electrical properties of high field ZnO varistors

Conference ·
OSTI ID:5961617

High-field ZnO-based varistors (10 less than or equal to E less than or equal to 100 kV/cm at J = 5A/cm/sup 2/) with non-linearity coefficients (..cap alpha..) greater than 30 were fabricated by sintering chemically prepared precursor powders at 675 to 740/sup 0/C in air. The chemistry used is discussed and related to precursor powder morphology and to microstructural and electrical properties of varistors. 9 references, 4 figures, 2 tables.
